Your appointment
1. Can you see me today?
If you
have a dental emergency, we will see you as soon as possible. If you call us
early in the day, we can usually see you before lunch. While we may not be able
to provide you comprehensive treatment at that time, we will do whatever is
necessary to get you out of pain and stabilize your condition.
2. Do you have early appointments?
We see
patients as early as 7:30 in the morning. A lot of our patients stop by on their
way to work. We also work through the noon lunch hour so folks can see us
without missing work.
3. How long will I have to wait?
Your time
is important to us. We strive to see you within 10 minutes of your "reserved"
appointment time. Should an unforeseen emergency arise and we are running
behind, we contact our patients and update them on our schedule. If you're
usually in a rush, we can also let you know how long your appointment will last.
You can speed up the check-in process for your
initial appointment by completing the following forms in advance of your visit.

4. Will it hurt?
No one
likes going to the dentist when it hurts. We understand. That's why we take
every precaution to insure you are comfortable during your entire treatment.
Normally, local anesthetic (Novocain) is enough to prevent pain. If you are
nervous about your treatment, many of our patients also opt for nitrous oxide
sedation during their appointments.
5. What if I have trouble when you aren't in the office?
Dr.
Sandlin provides 24 hour emergency coverage to his patients of record. Should
his schedule require him to be out of town, he will arrange for a trusted
colleague to see his patients for emergency care.
6. I have special medical concerns. Can you still see me?
Our staff
is highly trained and experienced in managing conditions that affect your dental
treatment. From metal allergies and sensitivity to routine medications, to
complex and debilitating medical conditions, we evaluate each patient thoroughly
and recommend how best to deliver your care.

7. Does my insurance cover my treatment?
That
depends. Dr Sandlin does not feel that insurance companies should control the
care his patients request. For that reason, he is not a member of any dental
network or dental HMO plan. If your insurance carrier requires that you see a
particular dentist, they will probably not pay for any treatment Dr Sandlin
provides.
However,
if your insurance carrier will pay benefits no matter where you receive care, we
will be happy to assist you in completion and electronically filing your claims.
We accept assignment of dental insurance benefits once your coverage levels have
been verified. Assignment of benefits are accepted for up to 45 days following
your care.
8. What forms of payment do you accept?
Our
office accepts cash and check (obviously), as well as most credit cards. If your
planned treatment is extensive, we also offer both in-house and outside
financial options. Most treatment can be planned to meet your time and financial
budgets.
